34 Healthy Desserts To Try Tonight
The healthy dessert is my white whale, something I have been trying to master for my entire life. When I was a kid, there was no such thing as gluten free, or under 100 calories diet dessert packs. But things have changed and so have I. When I got into high school and started noticing boys, I started thinking about my figure and was introduced to the world of diets and diet desserts and weight loss recipes. Ever since then, I have had the biggest sweet tooth of all my friends but because I like to eat clean and healthy, I have had to resort to healthy sweet snacks, paleo desserts, and low carb sweets that satisfy my sweet tooth but help me keep the fat off.
After getting into a dessert rut, I have decided to revamp my diet desserts inventory by looking all over Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, and on every blog that Google would send me. I have come up with desserts that are chocolatey, peanut buttery, gooey, delicious, and all count as weight loss dessert recipes. So if you are in the mood or some guilt-free good-mood sweet treats and are looking to keep your diet game going strong, you’ve come to the right place. Let’s dive into these amazing treats.
1. Quick Healthy Dessert Recipe – Paleo Chocolate Cupcakes
I’m not going to waste any time beating around the bush. We are going to start with chocolate on chocolate cupcakes that are healthy, guilt-free, and will satisfy your sweet tooth while helping you stay on track with your weight loss goals. Not only are these healthy chocolate cupcakes paleo, but that means they are also gluten-free, grain-free, and diary-free. Triple word score. Pro tip: use coconut sugar instead of refined sugar to help with the glycemic index and keeping your insulin in check. While these aren’t going to be exactly like traditional cupcakes, they are still moist and will quickly become your new favorite diet dessert. Plus, I think they are under 100 calories.
2. Diet Dessert Recipes – Paleo Coconut Butter Cups
Let’s keep the paleo dessert train a chugging with some paleo coconut butter cups that you can make yourself. You use some shredded coconut, coconut oil, vanilla extract, sea salt, and dark chocolate to create a diet dessert that isn’t bad for you. Garnish then with a little more shredded coconut on top and you have a clean eating paleo dessert that is low carb. Bam!!
3. Healthy Dessert To Try – High Protein Chocolate Coconut Chia Pudding
If you are looking for a way to get your protein in a healthy dessert that is gluten free and grain free, then you need to try this chocolate coconut chia seed pudding. Part of this healthy dessert’s beauty is it’s simplicity. It’s four ingredients total and you can totally play this off as a healthy breakfast as well, which means dessert for breakfast (something I am a huge fan off). The protein in this good-mood food comes from Greek yogurt which actually works as a great substitute for sour cream as well. She also uses some chocolate protein powder to really get the grams up but I sometimes will sub it for some hot chocolate powder if I want to be bad. The trick to this diet friendly dessert is letting it sit overnight to let the chia seeds absorb moisture and become a pudding texture.
4. Chocolate Almond Butter Popcorn Healthy Dessert Recipe – Under 100 Calories
I like to find healthy desserts that almost feel more like a snack than an actual dessert and this chocolate almond butter popcorn definitely fits that mold. The recipe is gluten-free and vegan so it gets bonus points in that it is not only going to be guilt-free, but it’s also available to a wide range of diets. Emilie (the author) is a big fan of plant based recipes and after trying this one, I am officially a fan. Because it’s popcorn plus sugar, it’s perfect for a Netflix and chill situation and I’m pretty sure it’s under 100 calories if you’re not crazy with the chocolate.
5. Less Than 100 Calorie Easy And Healthy Dessert – Butter Toffee Popcorn
Let’s keep the popcorn train rolling with one of my favorite healthy dessert snacks ever: butter toffee popcorn. 6. Healthy Dessert and Breakfast – Blueberries & Cream French Toast Casserole
So this one is considered a ‘breakfast’ in the article, but I think of it as a perfect dessert that I can eat and feel great about afterwards. What’s cool about this author is she will take really sugary and carb loaded recipes and try to replicate the flavor without all the carbs and sugar. If you like it as much as I do, you will end up eating some of it as dessert and then double it up as a healthy breakfast the next morning.
7. Diet Desserts – Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Banana Bites
Dark chocolate, peanut butter, and banana…need I say more? Yes, I need to because if you want to stick to your paleo diet and have a great dessert, this is one you have to try. It’s so easy too. These also fall in the category of ‘healthy snack’ that can replace dessert. Having only three ingredients, this recipe is very fast, with very little prep (just cut bananas, put peanut butter between and dip in chocolate). Quick, clean, paleo, and low carb dessert. Thank you mamm!
8. Fudgy Macadamia Chocolate Fat Bombs
The fudgy macadamia chocolate fat bombs are stuff of legend. Fat bombs are your initiation into the world of low carb, high fat diets. Before getting into the recipe, he discusses the rationale of low carb diets and why we still need fat to build our cells and molecules in our body. Technically, this recipe is made for the ‘Keto’ diet which has gotten really popular lately and while I’m not sure if I could stick with Keto forever, I can get behind a low carb, no-guilt healthy brownie.
9. Sugar-Free Dairy-Free Chocolate Sorbet Dessert Under 100 Calories
After taking a look at the Keto diet, we are going to take a look at the sugar free diet world. They also have a great inventory of amazing desserts that your body thinks are super sweet, but really they aren’t. This dessert is not only low carb, but also egg free, and comes in at 15 calories per serving (WOW). The sugar free mom mentions that she gets most of her ideas from watching cooking shows and that this is one of those ideas. You just need cocoa powder, swerve sweetener (to trick your tastebuds), cinnamon, salt, water, coffee, vanilla, and chocolate stevia. Enjoy!
10. Strawberry Hand Pies – Low Carb And Gluten-Free Desserts
So, I love chocolate, but my favorite dessert in the whole world is anything pastry with fruit (think: cobbler, pie, etc..). ADIDAF (All day I dream about food) has managed to come up with a recipe for a low-carb, gluten-free pastry crust that she uses to wrap fruit in a healthy and delicious pastry crust. She also uses almond flour which is a trick I picked up a few months ago and really enjoy using. It does have a slightly different texture but i you can compensate for that with a little bit of starch.
