33 Festival Makeup Tutorials
Every time there’s a cool music festival, I get jealous of all the cute, boho dressed and festival makeup girls that went. I always miss all the cool festival and their looks, but this year I’m ready. I found all the ones I want (Coachella!!) and saving up money to buy them at the cheapest price when they’re out. I also don’t want to be unprepared with my looks! I’ve always wanted to go back to my sorority days when I could wear metallic tattoos and body glitter again. I keep shopping for the perfect outfits and looking for the best paint and festival makeup hacks and tutorials on Pinterest and stalking those who went on Instagram.
I picked the best looks I found and they’re actually a lot easier than it looks! Some of the festive makeup tutorials are even on Youtube so you can watch exactly how they’re done. You’ll just need some paint, eye makeup, and lots of glitter if you’re into that. There’s even neutral music festival makeup! You’re going to be so prepared for the festival you’re going to whether it’s this weekend, or next year! It’s never too early to be ready. You can help your wallet by buying everything with time in between so your debit card will be ready to get your Coachella ticket.
1. Face and Hair Glitter : Festival Season
“Out-of-this-world” almost literally. She looks like the prettiest alien human ever. If you’re into the alien trend or glitter and rhinestones for festival makeup, try out this cute look! She doesn’t look too crazy because if you don’t look a little “out there” are you really at a music festival? The look is actually flattering with natural lashes and the rhinestones framing her already perfect eyebrows.
2. Rave Makeup Tutorial
If you’ve ever wanted to do a Harley Quinn inspired makeup look, this is a good, subtle one for music festivals. She talks about wanting to go to Coachella (relatable) and how she would wear this is she ever went to a music festival. She puts blue and purple eyeshadow under her eyes, which could make a girl look tired, but her highlighting with concealer brighten up her look!
3. Festival Makeup Step by Step Video
I love how she plays up the neutral color white in the music festival look. She also puts a bar through the middle of her bottom lip, which is so hot cause it draws some attention to your lips. If you wanted a more natural look for you music festival, you can watch the beginning of the tutorial for her cut crease eyeshadow look that’s still dramatic enough for festival. The white she uses is a liquid eyeliner she finds different ways to wear on here eyes, lips and even face. The way she put on her glitter is also amazing and beautiful!
4. Coachella Boho Makeup Paint
This colorful festival look is so simple! You can be just a beginner and pull off all the look with the right festival makeup products. For the important parts of this look, you’ll need different types of eyeliner and eyeshadows in the colors you want to use and put them all over your face! It’s a festival! Draw circles around your eyes, lines on your cheeks, anything you want! Make the look your’s. It’s your life.
5. Pride Festival Rainbow Makeup
Going to a pride festival? This rainbow eyeshadow is perfect! She looks like the cutest unicorn and the colors are so bright! You can use the product she did or just use all the colorful eyeshadows you never use. Now you have a reason! Just go to more festivals and create new looks each day. The look is just like putting on eyeshadow everyday but with brighter colors and more blending. Completely doable. If your color isn’t as pigmented as you want, spray your brush with setting spray before you dip it in any color!
6. Glowy Lollapalooza Make-Up with Eyeliner Hack
This step by step makeup routine honestly doesn’t look hard at all. You just have to make sure you’ll get that glow under all that white eyeliner or face paint, whichever you can get a hold up for your festival. Just use very natural, shimmery makeup and place your choice of bright color on the other side of your inner corner framing the higher side of your nose. Then just put put that white paint everywhere as long as it’s cute! Don’t forget to highlight at the end.
7. Boho Style Music Fest Makeup
Her tutorial has the complete look. You will look like a boho festival goddess if you replicate her hair and do the makeup tutorial. The highlight in the middle of her forehead looks like a big trend that has been seen all over Coachella without any cultural appropriation controversy. She even used that product on her lips for a gorgeous pink and gold ombre effect I’m going to have to try this evening for my night in the town.
8. Easy Festival Eye Makeup
If you know how to use eyeshadow and glitter eyeshadows, you can do this. If not, you can still do it because it is so easy. The look really brings the attention to your eyebrows, so if you love them, this is the look to do for your festival. If it’s too basic or plain for you, add some face paint. She put eyeshadow below the glitter, but I saw an easier trick on Pinterest. Just use petroleum jelly, or Vaseline, and the glitter will stay tack without any need for a base color.
9. Step by Step Rhinestones and Glitter Look
I needed this rhinestone look in my life. She looks like an absolute queen, goddess, just all out royalty. She might have used the ultimate music festival product for wearing rhinestones: cosmetic glue. She suggest getting a reliable one to not worry about falling pieces when you’re trying to have fun. All you need to do for the rhinestones is put the glue on and place diamonds where you want them!
10. Neutral Music Festival Makeup
This neutral music festival makeup isn’t as neutral as you think, even though it’s looks natural. The smokey eye is actually pink! Which makes it worthy of being a festival makeup look. Plus, not everyone is going to want to go dramatic with their makeup look every single day of the festival. She mentions this cheap makeup product that can be used for lips, highlighter, and eyeshadow that I will definitely purchasing since multitaskers will save my money for the festival itself.
11. Gold Glitter Festival Season Youtube Video
Your festival makeup look could be spiced up with something as little as glitter freckles! Her gold ones are so subtle but still noticeably cute. She uses some complicated festival makeup products, but you can just use gold paint. The hot pink and gold color combination is also very attention drawing and different. Rarely can you wear pink eye make up on a regular day, but confidence you can do anything.

If you have similar curly hair as this gorgeous girl, this look would be so cute for festivals. It’s a nice substitute for flower crowns, which had their time at Coachella. She goes more into detail with the curling in the front, a good tip for anyone curling their hair. For festivals, most pictures will be taken with the front of your face so I would focus most of my attention there. Be sure that depending on your hair style for the day or how you’ll want to take pictures, the rest of your hair will look curly or good enough for your Instagram pics. Add your flowers if you need some more festival flair.
